New Info

I just got back from meeting with my friend. He didn't have much to say but did give me this file.

He said he hacked it from one of their file systems but had no idea what it meant. He thinks it's some sort of location indicator but that there are probably decoys along with the real location.

They've since changed their security system so he can't get back in. If you guys figure out what this is please check it out and let me know. I'm stuck in class all day. We are doing presentations for our papers from last week...boring.

  3. I think could be the place where is the Olympic cauldron of the Winter Games 2010: 1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver

  4. And here you can find the overlapped map: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/849/overlap.jpg/
Are you able to recognize the streets on the red spots?

  5. Hmmm, none of the marked locations are near the Olympic torch. That statement is weird. I'll try googling parts of it and see what I can find.

  6. Ok, so I googled around a bit and found that part of the statement is from In Flanders Field. Maybe they are referring to a war memorial?

  7. Perhaps thery are referring to Victory Square and its cenotaph...but I still can't link it to morse code number (1364) and the three red spots...I definitely need some help from someone living in Vancouver :)

  8. Package found in Victory Square near the memorial! Thanks for the help malamoffo!

Tyler - it seems to be a recruitment kit. Inside I found 2 liber8 shirts, a bandana, liber8 posters, and info on how to join liber8.

  9. I'm glad to be helpful! (you could present a shirt to me :) )

  10. Tyler, it seems they are trying to increase their ranks. Dear anonymous friend, I hope you aren't considering to join them.

  11. how did you decode that? the spacing is off, which made it impossible for me, since you can't tell word seperation and recognize patterns that way.
    i'm impressed.

  12. Don't mind the spacing...morse code had 4 number...at the end of the message you have other 4 symbols -> 4 letters -> 4 numbers...from that, you can easily rebuild the 8 digit code

    1. Hey Malamoffo,

how did you decipher the text? does it involve some kind of mirroring of the symbols?

    4. Yes I did, just follow my hint -> from last 4 symbols to letters (with pigpen cypher)...then...you'll have 4 letters...it should be simple to transform them to numbers ;) Let me know if you need further assistance

    5. Ah, the pigpen cipher. That surely helps :) Did you recognise the symbols, or was it a hint somewhere that led you to that cipher? :)

  14. Wow, you guys are so awesome. Between classes I'm working on a report about what seems to be Liber8's new recruitment efforts. I've got my friend Josh, the guy who hacked that file from their system, hunting around too.
